May 2025 - June 2025 SERIES
"I am Not, But I Know I Am." This book title by Pastor Louie Giglio says it all—we are not enough, but we know the One who is. God’s name, "I Am," changes everything.
In the Gospel of John, Jesus makes seven “I Am” statements that reveal His identity and mission. And one that outright says it all:
“Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I Am.” John 8:58
With these words, Jesus doesn’t claim to just be a teacher or prophet—He claims to be Yahweh Himself. To the bystanders, this was unmistakable. When God revealed Himself to Moses in Exodus 3:14, He gave His name: “I Am.” Now, Jesus reveals that name as His own. This wasn’t a metaphor. This wasn’t poetry. It was a declaration of divinity—one that nearly got Him stoned on the spot and eventually led to Calvary.
Over the next eight weeks, we’ll unpack these powerful verses and declarations of Jesus. Each one, revealing who He is and what He does. In these words, we see His heart, His mission, and His invitation to relationship.
